Disposable Film

Here is something a little different.

Earlier this year I acquired a few disposable film cameras mostly for the purpose of documenting the social occasions I didn't want to lug the DSLR to. There is a magic to film photography that I'd long forgotten - I never quite remember which moments each camera holds until the pictures are finally developed. This summer has been my busiest yet with photography and for a large part of it I abandoned planning personal shoots in favour of balancing commissioned work with my new degree. Disposable film cameras became a way to carry on snapping pictures (many, many pictures!) without feeling like I was doubling my editing load. Plus the images often come out grainy or dark or otherwise appealingly imperfect. Win win.

I'll stop with the story now. Here are a few selections from my snaps so far this year. Enjoy!
